A DOC file is a text document that until recently could only be created and modified using the Microsoft Office Word program. Previously, DOC files included only formatted text, but progress does not stand still, and therefore today various built-in objects can be added to them, such as: tables, graphs, multimedia. Word 2003 is the last version to use DOC as the primary format. If there is a text editor MS Word, there are no questions about opening such files, but it is not always possible to install this program on a computer for various reasons.
The Portable Document Format (PDF) is a versatile file format that preserves the fonts, images, and layout of the original document, regardless of which of many platforms and which of many applications the document was created on. It was initiated by Adobe and was originally intended for electronic presentation of printed materials. PDFs look the same no matter what device they are viewed on. Whether you're using Windows 10, Mac, Chrome OS, Android, Windows Phone, iPad, or Windows XP - on any software or hardware, PDFs remain the same.
